The Future Project Will Partake In Steam Next Fest
Demo, livestreams, and more!
Infinite Level game discussed: The Future Project
Hi internet! Got a special dev blog post for today. The Future Project will be participating in Steam's Next Fest, running from February 6th to the 13th! For those who don't know, Next Fest is a Steam event focused on upcoming games where players can try out demos of soon to be released games, check out developer livestreams, and of course wishlist games that interest them (by the way, wishlist The Future Project!). As you may have guessed, The Future Project will be doing all those things as well. The game's demo is now publicly available ahead of Next Fest, because I got excited and just couldn't wait another week and a half. As for the livestreams, I will be showcasing the game in detail during the following times:
February 7th @ 8 PM CST
February 9th @ 7 PM CST
In addition to the demo's availability and the announcement of The Future Project in Next Fest, I've also uploaded a new trailer for the game. This trailer gives a better look at many of the game's worlds, player abilities, and even the game's antagonist. I have updated the game's page on this website with the trailer, but you can also watch the trailer below.
To wrap up the announcements, I'll also attempt to answer a few questions before they're asked to give a bit more detail on how this is going to go and what to expect.
Does this mean the game is close to releasing?
More or less. I'm still not comfortable with giving a firm release date yet, but I can at least say things are moving along nicely and that I'll probably release the game sooner rather than later. For the time being, I would say it's best to check in on this blog from time to time to get updates. I post dev blogs monthly, often highlighting progress or aspects of the game I've not talked about at length yet. In addition, I highly recommend wishlisting the game. Doing so sends you a notification the moment The Future Project is released.
What will you be covering during the livestreams?
My focus will be on the content shown in the demo followed by playthroughs of some of the game's worlds, mainly Jeweled Tundra and Hand of the Water. In addition, I'll be showing off many of the abilities you get in the game to give a better understanding of what players will expect when the full game releases. Officially, the streams are an hour long, so I want to try and show off as much as possible during that hour.
How do I watch the livestreams?
Steam will display the livestream on The Future Project store page. You can also go here to watch the livestream once it begins. I look forward to seeing you there!
Is the demo only available for Steam Next Fest?
Nope! Even after Next Fest ends I'll keep the demo up so that people can try the game out whenever they want, including after the game releases. I'm a big believer in "try before you buy." Plus, I'm absolutely expecting people to want to play the full game after they've played the demo.
Where will the game be found on Next Fest?
Other than this link and simply searching for The Future Project, you can navigate under either the Action or Adventure tabs, then look for Metroidvania or, specifically under the Action tab, First-Person Shooter. You might have to navigate the sub-menus a bit to find the game. If things really go my way, the game could also appear under popular. ;)
That should cover everything! Enjoy the demo and trailer, come back on February 1st for a new dev blog, and check out the livestreams on February 7th at 8 PM CST and February 9th at 7 PM CST.
Until next time!
